Hawaii through my lens

As a nod to mother's day, this is our trip to Hawaii through my lens as a mother.

......................................................................................................................................

Our 5 hour drive to the airport easily turned into 7.

Carry-on, breastpump bag, other carry-on, lunch box, a carseat on each side, and a lap travel tray.

Can you spot my knees?

I don't usually sit in the back of the car, so almost every time we got in, Marci would signal to the spot next to her and request, "Mama sit here?!" 🥰

It meant I could be Caio's binky too.

Which was a trick that came in handy to help him fall asleep later on.

Did we forget anything? Good thing we packed lightly! 😄

Standing for the flights. He slept in the carrier like a rockstar!!!
...As long as I could bounce him 😜

The alternative is getting my face eaten.

My MIL took this picture as I was trying to strap him in.

Despite being on the move, I still pumped every 4 hours around the clock. My breastpump supply bag came through for me big time!

Not shown: all the locations I pumped at throughout the trip 😅 Gotta feed my kid!

And what I really feel like as I average 2-4 hours of sleep a night.

(Though it's getting better)😂

Diaper, swim diaper, swimsuit, hat, sunscreen, and swim gear.

We did the whole works every time we went to the beach. And every time, this little boy ended up napping on me instead of swimming. Only his toes ever got wet!

And although I only got in the water once because of it, my view was the best by far.

So much oxytocin from all the snuggles!

And from watching the rest of my people play.

Every picture I have includes at least one extra set of limbs.

Especially at some point during the day, when I got to be a human bassinet!

Then there's my love-hate relationship with car naps.

Yikes to the head falling forward and bobbing around!

But I don't mind holding it up when I can.

Even if it meant staying in the car during some of the viewpoints.

And while the other tourists learned about coconuts, I was under the ginger plant changing diapers at the speed of lightning before anyone even noticed.

Oh but my favorite part -- food!
Since acquiring a toddler, I sincerely enjoy sharing my food. I love my built-in meal buddy.

At night we came up with makeshift baths. Anything else is overrated.

*As he holds on for dear life*

On our last day, we had a choice to make: Hawaiian swap meet or the park.

It wasn't that hard of a decision considering it was my girl's last chance to stretch before a long flight home.

Being a mom is everything.

Every thought, every decision, circulates around our children and what their needs may be.

They are a lot of work and also my greatest pride.

All in all, Hawaii was a dream!

But if you were to ask me what the greatest part about this adventure was....

...I hope you know what my answer would be ☺

......................................................................................................................................

Shout out to my own mother, grandmother, and mother in law. I'm grateful we managed to spend time with all three because of this trip!

Everything I do now makes me appreciate them twice as much & wonder every day how they did it.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!!

I see you for all that you do <3
